Basement Construction (Stained Concrete)

The process for staining the concrete took about 4 work days and the odor generated when they sealed it drove us out of the house (even me after an entire night at work with only 3 hours sleep). We're pleased, however, with the finished product!

Anna & Meg decided to pose for a few pictures this time!

The walls are still a little wet from the touch-up work they did today.

As you can see, the stain adheres differently to certain sections of the concrete...it gives it a unique look!

Most of the patch work in the bathroom will be covered with the toilet and the vanity, however, you may see a little bit of the darker concrete.

Basement Construction (Painting)

They painted the basement today so hopefully tomorrow they'll hang the light fixtures and start some of the trim! You may not be able to see much of a difference from when they textured, but you sure can smell the difference!

Basement Construction (Wall texture)

Well, they surprised us on Saturday afternoon when they showed up to texture the walls. Hopefully on Monday they'll paint...It's starting to really come together!

This is the hallway leading to the bathroom. There will be a sconce light on the angle wall.

Basement Construction (Drywall & Mud)

After only 9 working days, they just finished the first coat of mud on the drywall. Hopefully by working day 11 you'll see tecture on the walls and day 12 should start with the painting!

The plumber had a little work to do! Vanity on the left, toilet in the center and shower to the right.

Shower pan without sides and shower plumbing. Should be a nice sized shower!

They had to move the rough-in for the plumbing. The vanity will be on the left, toilet moved to the right and shower to the far right.

We started construction on our basement to finish the bathroom and craftroom room. Here are a few photos that step you through the process!

Last Day!

We spent the last day at Animal Kingdom. We saw some shows, rode some rides, then we were off to the airport to catch our flight!



Finally, home at last and the girls enjoyed sleeping in their own beds!

The day after the marathon of course! Todd wasn't too sore and he was able to walk around and meet some characters.
